Hello! My name is Nicole Simon, I am a Mental Health Counselor with Greater Vision Counseling & Consulting Agency. I graduated with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in 2020. I completed my undergraduate work in Psychology at UNC-Pembroke. I have been with Greater Vision since my early person training in 2019. I completed both my practicum and internship at this agency and was hired after graduation as a therapist.
As a spouse to a retired military member and mother to three amazing children, I can offer an “insider’s” perspective to parents and military families. As a parent to two children on the autism spectrum, one with a number of mental health struggles, I have a passion for working with parents of autistic children and those with ADHD and other mental health concerns. I have worked with many veterans through my internship at Greater Vision and especially enjoy being able to support our military members, veterans, and their families.
Additionally, through my work with Greater Vision, I have developed a heart for working with our LGBTQIA+ community and am passionate about supporting them, especially teens and young adults. I enjoy working with teens and young adults in many areas, especially those struggling with self harm and anxiety.
My time at Greater Vision has shown me what it means to be a quality counselor and I enjoy the family that has been created within the facility and the community at large. Working in a small town was never something this city girl dreamed of and I am loving every minute of the education and family I have gained through this experience. I have learned so much from working with this community.
