Hello! My name is Katie Long, and I am proud and blessed to be one of the therapists here at Greater Vision. I am certified with the North Carolina Board of Social Work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate.

My diverse experience includes working with adults, children, teens, couples, and families. I completed my undergraduate at University of North Carolina at Pembroke and obtained my Master’s in Social Work from Walden University. My greatest passion is bringing healing, hope, and safety to those that have suffered from traumatic and stressful experiences. I have served in the social work field since 2013. I started off working in a skilled nursing facility as a Social Services Director and worked in child welfare for nine years.

I understand that these are very trying times for many people, especially, in dealing with life challenges. I most value in providing a safe and peaceful environment for you in the office as we work together. It is my ultimate priority to make sure that you feel comfortable and safe. My primary clinical interest is the treatment of anxiety, PTSD, depression, ADHD, panic disorder, families, grief, couples, and parenting related concerns.

I believe everyone has a unique story of their own, and that each person holds their own unique collection of experiences. It is important for me to get to know you, so that I can find an approach that will best suit your needs. I often use a range of approaches to best suit the client's need which include: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, strengths-based, empowerment based, trauma-focused therapy, exposure therapy, supportive therapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, experiential therapy, structural family therapy, Gottman method, and Gestalt therapy.

My favorite author/psychotherapist Virginia Satir once wrote “I want you to get excited about who you are, what you are, what you have, and what can still be for you.” In my therapeutic strengths of genuineness, being non-judgmental, evidenced based interventions, and humor, I find enjoyment in assisting others in their challenges.

I would be honored to be a part of your journey for peace, healing, and assisting you in getting excited about who you are.
