Hi, my name is Bethany Oxendine, and I am from Red Springs, North Carolina. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, building on my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, which I received from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. My educational journey reflects my deep passion for understanding human behavior and helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. In addition to my mental health counseling studies, I am working toward becoming a certified addiction specialist to support individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
Professionally, I have previous experience working with youth in the school system, where I developed skills in guidance, mentorship, and creating supportive environments for students. These experiences have fueled my desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others, particularly those navigating mental health and addiction challenges.
Outside of my professional and academic pursuits, I cherish spending quality time with my husband and children. Family is central to my life, and I enjoy creating memorable experiences with them. I also have a passion for cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, often preparing homemade meals that bring comfort and joy to my family and friends. Exploring new recipes and techniques allows me to express my creativity and attention to detail, which also translates into my professional life.
A quote I like to go by is "It is just a bad day, not a bad life".
