Howdy friends!
My name is Shannon, LCMHC-A, NCC, and I’m one of the therapist at our Raeford 2 location! I’m a local to Hoke County, where I graduated from Hoke County High School in 2016 before starting my journey towards my career at Appalachian State University. I graduated from AppState in 2020 with my Bachelors of Science, B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Human Services and a minor in Sociology. Upon graduating, I was accepted into the University of North Carolina at Pembroke for my Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which I successfully completed in 2023.
Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy spending time reading, trying new coffee shops, and finding new places to explore. The one book I would always recommend is The Body Keeps the Score- which has both educated many on the complexities of trauma but also encouraged growth and validation for those who have experienced trauma. A personal goal of mine would be to host a mental health based book club!
I have a passion for working with people and being a part of my client’s journey to self discovery and finding inner strength. I am most passionate about working with children and up through young adulthood. With the many changes, trials, and overall developmental stages, growing up and navigating the world around you can be hard- I am here to help support and provide guidance to make these times a little easier!
